Around this time last year I was kind of in panic mode, just with school and drama and a senior recital looming ahead of me which makes me all the more grateful that this season is just, well, peaceful.

I was incredibly blessed to collaborate with Rachel Waters from Waters Photography...and let me just brag on Rach for a minute! She's the sister of my new brother-in-law and holy cow, this girl is talented behind a camera. We both switched lenses for the night, simultaneously oohing and aahing, and I'm so excited to have new photos to plaster over my website (not joking! I'm so excited for new content!!!) and that truly reflect how I feel about this season. My senior pictures were so lovely and truly well done last year, but I've changed and grown alot both physically and mentally since then. Having photos that represent both seasons is such a joy because you can look back and reflect on each time.

I'm learning to celebrate and savor each moment in this season of decision and thankfulness to the Lord for guiding every one of my steps!

Now, onto the photos :)

Thank you thank you Rachel!

I'll be sharing Rachel's headshots tomorrow, and trust me...you don't wanna miss them!!! ;)

Thank you thank you Rachel! I truly love these photos and am so excited to share yours tomorrow! xx

Mitchell and I have known each other since we were babies but you really get to know someone after spending hours in a practice room with them! He can make you laugh quicker than almost anyone I know (we couldn't stop laughing through certain parts of his shoot!) and has such a kind personality that just shines through his senior pictures!

Rain was on the forecast for the day but we ended up having the dreamiest light with the sun peeking through clouds every now and then, and the dewy grass just made it absolutely one of my favorite shoots I've ever done.

Mitchell's headed towards a career in performing, and I couldn't be more proud and excited to see where God leads him in the next few years.

I hope you enjoy looking at some of my favorite shots from his shoot!

Am I a day late? Yes, yes I am.

And I have good reason. I'll spare you the photos but I spent most of my afternoon yesterday with headphones on while breathing prayers as I got three of my wisdom teeth out. Needless to say, I am in full chipmunk mode. Not "chipmunk" but CHIPMUNK. A very, very healthy chipmunk who indulges regularly in pizza kind of face is how I'm doing today haha!

But in other news, I've gotten a little bit of time to sit down and write a great Monday...I mean...Tuesday Magic!

Let's start with what I did last week:

-If you haven't heard, I said goodbye to this little girl

and hello to SAV!

That's right friends! I finally updated and am absolutely in love with my Canon 6D.

-I called a funeral home in WISCONSIN not Michigan to apply for a job accidentally. Mhm. Blondness kicking in my friends.

-I have been absolutely hooked on the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series (I'm reading book four and finished book five yesterday! Yes, I know I'm reading them out of order but don't judge, mkay?) Last time I read them I was in middle school and I keep catching myself cracking up over Percy's commentary. There's an accompanying sequel series called the Heroes of Olympus and let's just say this quote describes both series well:

' "I'm fine!" Percy yelled as he ran by followed by a giant screaming bloody murder.'

Also in case you've read the books, here are some of my favorite Pinterest finds:

-I have found that if I need to smile for photos I just think of the image above and I crack up instantly.

-I also had the coolest opportunity to take pictures of my lil bro. And no, he's not my real brother but Mitchell is one of my good friends and I play the cello with him every now and then. His senior pictures turned out CRAZY GOOD.

-See?

-And also in terms of links this week: this Studio C sketch has been my first favorite in a long time. It's so good! And also this video is one of my watches this week. My sister introduced me to Amy & Jordan and I think this video is such a cool testimony to their work and how they serve their clients...

-Books: Like I said, I've been loving the Percy Jacksons but while I workout I like audiobooks and Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist has been on lately. It's such a beautiful inspiring book about change and growth, something I need to hear!

I think that's it for this week! Sending all my best wishes for yours and we'll see ya next Monday!
